Emily's Produce is a family owned and operated produce market on Md. Rt. 16 (Church Creek Rd) just 5 miles from the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Resort in Dorchester County Maryland. Look for the "Big Red Tomato" and there you will find the freshest locally grown produce around. The business began in 1999 under a roadside tent in honor of the future proprietor, then a newborn, Emily Jackson. Since that time, Emily's Produce has grown into a family friendly produce business that provides quality products and exceptional customer service.
Paul Jackson, the owner and operator of the business is a 4th generation grain farmer who wanted his daughter Emily to appreciate the work that is put into growing and raising crops. Paul was born and raised on a farm adjacent to the produce market and continues to support an agricultural lifestyle through his affiliation with multiple farm related organizations and fruit, vegetable, and grain planting and harvesting. By choosing to grow and sell vegetables at a roadside market, Emily's family would have the opportunity to teach her about the hard work of the farming profession, and it would also give Emily the opportunity to secure her college tuition. Emily, who is now 12, enjoys spending time helping at the market and in the field with her dad and brother, Kyle, who is 7.
The market opens in late April with a U-Pick strawberry patch and a beautiful selection of hanging baskets, perennials, annuals, and planters grown in our own greenhouse. Each week, Emily's Produce offers free recipes to each customer and delicious farm fresh desserts are made daily. The market offers the freshest and sweetest homegrown sweet corn and tomatoes starting in late June as well as a wide variety of other fruits and vegetables including blackberries that were added in 2007. Customers are also able to shop for unique, great tasting, and all natural jams, jellies, relishes, and sauces. Emily's Produce offers a FREE family fun experience with a children's play area and picnic tables for an outdoor farm dining venture. A U-Pick pumpkin patch is offered at Emily's Produce during the fall harvest season as well as a huge selection of homegrown mums, and fall decorations straight from the field. Look forward to a fun fall experience on the farm, with an exciting time finding your way through the milo maze and wagon rides through the pumpkin patch. School tours are offered in the fall, which includes an educational experience on the farm.
In 2009, Emily's Produce expanded their business and opened a second location on Sunburst Highway in Cambridge. Under the "Big Red Tent", customers are now offered the opportunity to shop for those same fresh from the field products that are picked daily. In 2010, Emily's Produce again expanded and began offering their superior products and service in Talbot County on St. Michaels Road. At Carroll's Market and Exxon, customers can find an excellent selection of farm fresh products that are grown by the Emily's Produce family and picked daily. See how we are "growing for you"
