Did you listen to Emily’s recent interview on WCEM 1240AM?

Farm Bureau Queen Gaines on Gaines … I have found the Loch Ness Monster! Turns out she’s sweet and smart and funny. Actually, I didn’t find a monster at all, but I did meet an equally elusive and mythical creature: the American teenager who is just wild about farming. When Emily Jackson was in third grade, her teacher invited the kids to dress up as a famous person. Emily dressed up as herself, the famous Emily of Emily’s Produce. Emily recounts the origins of her family’s business. Her dad carries on seven generations of Jackson farming on the Eastern Shore. Her retired cop mother snaps the tantalizing photos of pies and salads for the Emily’s Produce Facebook page. And 17 year old Emily bubbles a passion for agriculture that will buoy you right past your grocery store straight to a farm stand for a ripe tomato. I catch amazing Emily fresh from her trip to the Amazon, as she assumes the duties of a high school senior, Wednesday at noon.
